GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The driver shall be at least 21 years of age and shall have held a drivers license for at least one year before renting a vehicle.
The renter is responsible for all parking tickets and fines for traffic violations.
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours) for rentals picked up and returned to the same location. When the drop-off is one hour or more after the pick-up time, it is regarded as a full day.
ICR ehf reserves the right to substitute vehicles when the reserved car type is not available.
The rental car will normally have a full tank of fuel. The car should be returned with a full tank, otherwise the tank will be filled up on the cost of a client and additional service fee of 4.000 ISK will apply.
The renter is obliged to return the vehicle cleaned, if the rented car will be glaring neglected an additional cleaning fee of 7.500 ISK will apply (does not apply to the renters which prepaid the "car wash" fee).
In Iceland it is mandatory for young children to travel in safety seats while in a vehicle. Child seats are available if pre-ordered.
Navigational system is available for rent if pre-ordered.
INSURANCE
Third part liability is equivalent to the amount stipulated by Icelandic law at each time. This also applies to the amount of individual driver liability. Third party coverage and personal accident insurance is automatically included in your rental.
CDW (COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER) insurance is included in the price (self-risk of ISK 180.000).
The renter can purchase separate SCDW (SPECIAL COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER) insurance and by doing so lower the self-risk of CDW down to ISK 64.000. We highly reccomend it!
The renter may purchase special gravel protection (GP) and theft protection (TP) insurance from ICR ehf
CANCELLATION
All cancellation must be done by email. Following refund conditions apply:

More than 1 month - 90% refund
Less than 1 month - 50% refund
Less than 1 week - no refund.
THE BOOKING PROCEDURE
The online booking consists of few steps. During this procedure you have to accept our terms and conditions and cancellation policy.
Read terms and conditions carefully. In the last step you will confirm the booking and money transfer.
The last step of the procedure will be emailed to you as final confirmation.
ICR ehf will perform an authorization hold on a renter’s credit card for the amount of ISK 64.000 at the start of all rentals for security reasons, even if a voucher covers the cost of the rental, so please make sure that you have enough funds on the card. The authorization hold can be used to cover the costs of necessary repairs others than the repairs caused by normal wear due to use.
THE PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF LOCATIONS
You can choose from two pick-up (drop-off) locations. Usually the clients pick up and drop off cars at Keflavík International Airport.
If you choose to pick up the car at the airport our employee will meet you at the arrival hall of KEF Airport and guide you to the shuttle bus which will take you to our office. The car will be waiting for you there. The shuttle is free of charge.
You can however choose to pick up or drop off the car in Reykjavik. We will provide the car for you at the given address. It costs 7500 ISK.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

In the event of a collision or accident, the renter shall immediately notify the appropriate police authorities as well as the ICR ehf of the incident, and the renter may not leave the scene before the police have arrived.
