Korta is in cooperation with PBS International in Denmark offering cross-border acquiring of payment card transactions. Korta is a company that has, since November 2002, been working with PBS International in Denmark. Korta is an ISO (Independent Sales Organization) for Visa and MSP (Member Service Provider) for MasterCard and operates in cross-border acquiring of Visa, Eurocard, MasterCard and JCB transactions. Korta is a payment service provider, including signing on merchants and handling the authorization and transaction flow from the merchant to PBS International.
Korta is short for Kortaþjónustan (e. CardService) which is a limited liability company incorporated in Iceland with the objective to offer efficient card acquiring services to merchants by using cross border acquiring. Korta started with the focus on the Icelandic duopolic market, as there are only two local acquirers, one for Visa and one for MasterCard, and therefore hardly any competition. Today, Korta is signing up merchants from several European countries and with business across the whole of Europe.
